Innovate + create
When it comes to fabric innovation and treatments, Italian stalwarts Stone Island are the ones to watch. First established in 1982 by Massimo Osti, the brand has has built a loyal following based on this spirit of experimentation and design.
Expanding this legacy, the brand’s new SS18 collection sees a focus on sportswear and military uniforms, in particular the alligator camouflage of Communist-Era Polish soldiers. Here, those patterns come hand painted, photographed and re-printed in order to create a series of striking patterns.
This utilitarian theme continues through the brand’s latest addition to its iconic Marina range, introducing a new ‘Folded’ technique that sees original motifs dyed, folded, and then printed by hand – meaning that each piece is entirely unique. Elsewhere, this season’s Ghost pieces include a revolutionary multi-layer fusion technology to ensure guaranteed water resistance and breathability – perfect for those pseudo-summer London days.
