Public Information Film
As part of Paris Fashion Week Online, heritage British brand dunhill has chosen to present a special video titled Public Information Film, taking a time travel trip through its storied history.
Made to resemble a classic public information film, the visuals take us into dunhill’s Jermyn Street store during the 1980s. Like a scene from Are You Being Served?, we see customers arriving to pick out dunhill classics like their gold lighters, leather wallets and signature timepieces, while switching between vintage footage and recent shows in Paris. Spliced with the design processes behind dunhill’s signature pieces and soundtracked by an original collaborative composition between musician Moses Boyd and poet James Massiah, the house’s timeless codes are spotlighted and energised by creative director Mark Weston’s modernist spin.
“I am excited to be part of the Paris Fashion Week Online schedule, taking this moment to acknowledge the evolution of dunhill,” says Weston. “I felt strongly about documenting the progression of iconic products from the House and stand behind their unique sense of design. It’s important to give value in consistency at a time when everything as we know it is in change.”
