Locked out
Dover Street Market‘s usual new season revamp has been thwarted by a little global pandemic you may have heard about. But as we’ve come to expect from the renowned concept store, they’ve adapted in order to create. Hence the store’s bi-annual New Beginnings activation happening both in-store (for when customers are allowed back in) and online.
Despite the slight change, the customary stellar line-up remains firmly in-tact. Here’s a little rundown…
Celebrating the Zodiac Year of the Ox, DSM has recruited friends and collaborators to design limited-edition tees marking the event. In the mix are Braindead, Noah, Youths in Balaclava and Bianca Chandon. With Oxen known for favouring life-long alliances, it all makes sense.

You’ve read that Stüssy has collaborated with Comme des Garçons on a new fragrance inspired by Laguna Beach, right? And you’ve been considering what that must smell like ever since, correct? Well, it’s now on sale via the DSM website so you can stick ya hooter in and pretend you’re somewhere much more exotic.
Speaking of team-ups, DSM and converse have created a special iteration of the sportswear brand’s evergreen classic: the Jack Purcell. Offered in two colourways – black and parchment – both feature canvas-line base layers and traditional rubber toe boxes. Side stripes are a defining feature while a subtle DSM hut logo has been added towards the heel.

As always, there’s been a full restock of all Comme des Garçons brands, with new season SS21 collections proudly on display, including Junya Man, CDG Homme and CDG SHIRT. While in-store, the DSM elves have been busy creating a new CdG installation on the ground floor, showcasing Rei Kawakubo’s latest vision lit by rave red lights that remind us of a Kraftwerk gig (mmmm, gigs…). Sadly you’ll have to wait before seeing it in person.

Gucci‘s ongoing partnership with DSM returns for a brand new drop: The Epilogue Collection. Available only at DSM, each piece within the collection comes individually numbered and tagged with an exclusive red-and-black label. Boasting menswear and womenswear, pieces celebrate signature Gucci motifs and Alessandro Michele’s maximalist addiction to colour, pattern and embroidery. Be sure to eye up those floral prints designed by late US fashion designer George Kenneth Scott, while a satin reversible blouson has a tiger embroidery creeping up the side.
Meanwhile, new SS21 collections from the likes of Kiko Kostadinov, Jacquemus, Nike x Undercover, Craig Green, Bottega Veneta and Jil Sander are all fully-stocked, ready for you to do some quality online shopping. While the store doors remain closed, DSM encourages anyone who wishes to purchase to get in touch and they’ll be more than happy to help – they don’t bite.
