Airbrushed archives

The formative years of artist Chito’s diverse career, from 2014 to his breakthrough Supreme collaboration in 2018, are set to be collected in Chito: One – the first of a forthcoming self-published book series documenting Chito’s rise to success and an insight into his creative process.
Having just last month collaborated with Givenchy‘s Matthew M. Williams on the house’s 22 pre-collection, offering his synonymous airbrushed graphics to Williams’ defined tailoring, this book release comes at a time when the Seattle-born but New York and Mexico City-based artist’s profile is in focus more than ever.

Concentrating primarily on the medium of airbrush painting, with the intention to erase the stigma of graffiti, Chito’s self-taught medium has allowed him to craft a hallmark style and set of characters synonymous with his name – remember those surreal dog faces from his Givenchy collaboration? Or think back to the cartoon heads with sinister smiles from his Supreme team-up.
Chito: One offers a retrospective dive into the artist, documenting a chronological exploration into the ideas that first established his creative vision. Across 264 pages of archival photographs from the artist’s own camera rolls alongside contributions from colleagues and supporters alike, the book is the ultimate starter pack for all things Chito.
