Jack White is the latest face to join Hedi Slimane‘s ongoing Portrait of a Performer series.
Shot in LA in December 2021, the Detroit musician wears full Celine Homme, rocking Slimane’s signature monochrome tailoring, a leather blouson jacket decorated with chain detail and a sequinned blazer that shimmers in tune with White’s custom blue sparkle Telecaster – deserving of its own portrait; perched on a golden throne.
Slimane has long documented White’s career, from the musician’s White Stripes success alongside Meg White, through The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather and now as a solo artist. This new photographic portrait comes at a pivotal time for White: currently on tour, including a gig in London next week, he has a new record, Entering Heaven Alive, wrapped and ready for release on 22nd July. White’s fifth studio album, the work was recorded at White’s Third Man Studio throughout 2021, mastered and pressed in-house.
