Under Hedi Slimane‘s direction, Celine‘s return to the menswear runway in Paris last month was a pulsating masterclass in structure, and when to go off-beat. Titled Dysfunctional Bauhaus and set to the anti-rhythms of NYC band Gustaf, inside the Palais de Tokyo – where twenty years prior Slimane had shown his Dior Homme FW02 collection, Reflexion – the collection distorted notions of shape and form, like a sartorial no-wave track warping your mind. Nascent bands sat cross-legged on the runway while Alex Calder-esque mirrored mobiles designed by Slimane swung overhead.

Now comes a dynamic, visual collage courtesy of Slimane himself, who has edited together a film version of the show, with trademark camera cuts and palpable energy. Turn it up – hit play.
