Saint Laurent has announced a new store in its home city of Paris, located at 175 Boulevard Saint-Germain. Here, according to the press release, “Anthony Vaccarello offers a first glimpse of what will evolve into his new architectural vision for Saint Laurent.”

What does this architectural vision involve? Inside the raw, concrete surroundings of the historic 17th-century building – the former home of Sonia Rykiel’s iconic library-boutique – the store is designed around minimal and modernist design codes: floating displays, sleek marble tables, shelves in smoked glass and mirrored surfaces.

And of course the store’s Left Bank location nods to Yves Saint Laurent himself, who founded the notion of ready-to-wear in 1966 under the label Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche on the bohemian side of the River Seine.

The location initially opens on September 24th as a temporary store before a full renovation will be undertaken further down the line.
