Winning formula
A decade after his first campaign appearance for Dior, Robert Pattinson has become a recurring frontman ever since, starring in various Dior Homme campaigns and shooting that steamy elevator 2013 Dior Homme Eau advert with Camille Rowe, to name just a few. Now, the British actor returns for SS23, fronting the Parisian fashion house’s latest campaign. Fresh from portraying Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ Batman adaptation, it’s safe to say Bruce’s brooding stare has rubbed off on Pattinson.
In a continuation of creative director Kim Jones’ exploration of contemporary masculinity, silhouettes tread the line between tailoring and sportswear. Shot against a series of multicoloured backdrops contrasting with the collection’s muted colour palette, renowned Brazilian photographer Rafael Pavarotti is behind the camera to capture Pattinson’s classic elegance.
Combining Dior’s storied savoir-faire with an outdoorsy practicality, pieces include workwear-inspired jackets, cotton shirts refashioned into windproof alternatives and Diorizon shoes transformed into two new models. It’s all tied together by Jones’ artistic spirit and Pattinson’s embodiment of Dior’s unwavering house codes.
