Totally trippy!
In a totally brilliant mash-up, cult skate brand Stüssy has partnered with Belgian designer Dries Van Noten on a collection inspired by psych
Marrying Stüssy’s chilled-out So-Cal signatures with Dries Van Noten’s lifetime fascination with eclectic prints and patterns, a sea of tie-dye is cast across co-branded t-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts, rhinestones adorn pinstripe smoking blazers and pants, and appliqué peace signs and florals take a hallucinogenic trip across parkas with a bong-turned vase centrepiece – far out, man. Elsewhere, Stüssy’s signature 8-ball emblem gets a DVN overhaul on a varsity jacket, and roses are set ablaze on shorts.
Upping the fun level another notch, founding member and bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea fronts the campaign, capturing the rebellious and playful spirit of the collection in a campaign shot by Tyrone Lebon. Here, the musician plays bass in his rhinestone suit, chucks a basketball around and goes topless wearing a pair of tie-dye trousers – you can’t hire Flea and not expect some skin.
The collection is available to shop in-store and online from 18th November.
