Ann Demeulemeester has been quick to move on from former creative director Ludovic de Saint Sernin, who left after only one season at the Belgian house. Stepping into the role is Stefano Gallici, a young Italian designer who previously held the role of menswear designer at the brand.
Previously working as a design assistant to Haider Ackermann, Gallici has been at Ann Demeulemeester since 2019 and has played a key role in the development of the house since. Though only born in 1996 (are we getting old?!), Gallici seems like a safe pair of hands for the house. Ann Demeulemeester has been helmed by a team of in-house designers since the resignation of Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s predecessor Sébastien Meunier in 2020, Gallici’s appointment suggests that the house aren’t looking to fix what isn’t broken.
Stefano Gallici’s first collection as creative director of Ann Demeulemeester will debut during Paris Fashion Week in September.
