Going ✈️ Florence
S.S. Daley is going to be the next guest designer at Pitti Uomo’s 105th edition in Florence next January.
The young Liverpudlian designer has made waves in recent years with his hand-crafted, whimsical take on fashion, feeling more at home gleaning inspiration from the Bloomsbury set and Cecil Beaton than contemporary iconography. In a press release, Daley said that he is “honoured to have the opportunity to take S.S.DALEY’s manifesto of modern British storytelling to Pitti Uomo, the epicentre of menswear design.”
A winner of the coveted LVMH Prize, an award for young designers who are seen as the tastemakers of tomorrow, Daley first turned heads when a number of his pieces appeared in the music video for Harry Styles’ song Golden. The collaboration between S.S. Daley and Harry Styles has been fruitful, the pop star further adding numerous Daley pieces to his wardrobe over the years.
Daley’s guest appearance at Pitti Uomo will see his name added to the list of previous guest designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Giorgio Armani, Dries Van Noten, Raf Simons, Glenn Martens and Virgil Abloh. For someone who is only in his mid-twenties, it feels like Daley’s place in British fashion has already been set.
