Game, Set, Match
It’s been two years since cult streetwear brand Aries and Italian sportswear giant Fila first joined forces on a sell-out capsule collection which harked back to the Ancient Greece myth of Theseus with pieces decked out in black and gold. Now, the pair are taking their joint creative vision into new territory with a retro tennis-inspired collection, reworking archive Fila silhouettes reminiscent of Italy in the 80s with the modern-day interpretation of Aries founder Sofia Prantera’s Italian heritage.

Bringing a sense of sensuality and style to the tennis court, a wardrobe of classic zip-up jackets, sweatshirts and joggers is cast in a palette of soft, washed-out pastels or neutral tones. Miniskirts feature elastic band detailing inspired by the tape wrapped around the handles of tennis rackets and a well-stocked set of accessories accompanies the collection in the form of tube socks and caps.
Sported by the musical duo and siblings Sons of Raphael, who recently composed original music for Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, in the accompanying campaign imagery (challenge them to a doubles match at your peril), Aries and Fila are bringing retro gear to the court just in time for Spring training.
