Yes, it’s only been six months since Poor Things came out but Yorgos is back again with his latest, and longest, film. Kinds of Kindness is a 2hr 45min absurdist black comedy anthology film, which depending on your tastes could either be the worst or best news possible. But with a cast that includes Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer, you’d kinda be crazy to miss this.

The Constituent
The latest play from Joe Penhall (Blue/Orange, Netflix’s Mindhunter) stars Anna Maxwell Martin as an MP who starts being terrorised by a particularly persistent constituent, an ex-soldier going through a messy divorce, played by James Corden. Corden’s Alec is a tragic character, unable to control his explosive disposition or his penchant for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. As Alec becomes more and more helpless, constantly under the threat that his children will be taken away from him, he becomes convinced that Martin’s Member of Parliament is the only person who can help him, by any means possible.

A major Francis Alÿs exhibition at the Barbican
The Belgian artist Francis Alÿs’ critically acclaimed series Children’s Games (1999-present) will be on display in the Barbican Art Gallery from this weekend and through the summer. For the past two decades Alÿs has travelled to over fifteen countries around the world to film children’s games – from ‘musical chairs’ in Mexico to ‘leapfrog’ in Iraq, ‘jump rope’ in Hong Kong and ‘wolf and lamb’ in Afghanistan. These films display the universality of children’s games, foregrounding social interactions which are in decline due to rapid urbanisation, the erosion of communities and the prevalence of digital entertainment.

Turn it up to 11
Whatever plans you have for Friday evening cancel them with immediate effect. Ty Segall is in London, and the mop-haired king of scuzz always (extra emphasis on always) takes priority. Garage rock’s prolific son is touring this latest record, Three Bells, an exploratory journey that sprawls across hidden depths and psych-y prog bliss, and along with a setlist of hits from across his prolific career, Segall is riding the scuzz pedal all the way to London’s Roundhouse.

Wear your toughest leather. Segall never fails to bring it.

Love wins, baby!
London in June is always packed full of parades, parties and protests for Pride Month to mark the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots and as the month draws to a close, Pride Parade will be taking over the capital this weekend. Now in its 52nd year, the parade will once again trace the original route first walked five decades ago. Grab a flag and join the crowd as they make their way from Marble Arch to Whitehall Place – a trail of glitter lies in their wake.

Reconstructed Nature
Esteemed artist duo Luke & Nik are presenting their inaugural solo exhibition at Photofusion in Brixton this summer, focusing their photography practice on the beauty of nature. Over the past fifteen years, the duo have developed a visual distinct visual style across, fashion, art and film, but for this series they turned to the landscapes of their respective hometowns to build a body of work that shows the world in a different light.

One field, loads of music
Kicking off this weekend with headline sets from SZA supported by Sampha and Snoh Aalegra and Kings of Leon joined by Paolo Nutini and The Vaccines, BST returns to Hyde Park for another summer of sell-out gigs. Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain, Kylie, Morgan Wallen and Stray Kids are other names to note on this year’s bill with a whole host of musicians still yet to be announced. Music aside, BST has also partnered up with Incognito, Casamigos Tequila and House of KOKO this year to deliver a pop-up of limited-edition cocktails, food and interactive exhibits inside the Incognito suite so you can enjoy a spicy marg as Kylie blasts in the background. It gives Spinning Around a whole new meaning.

Another marg, please
Doña serves up one of the most extensive mezcal menus in the city and last month the Stoke Newington joint opened up a permanent restaurant above its basement bar. Accompanying an extensive series of cocktails is a Latin American fusion menu built to be washed down with a margarita or two. Standout dishes include mezcal chicken skewers marinated for 24 hours in Doña’s own Dangerous Don mezcal, Honduran arepas filled with creamy beans and avocado alongside a whole host of tacos and burritos.
