Having recently seen Luke and Lucie Meier depart Jil Sander after seven years at the brand, now comes news that Bally designer Simone Bellotti will replace the duo.
Having been appointed creative director at Bally in 2023, Bellotti now exits the brand for his new position at Jil Sander. The Milan-born designer has previously held positions at A.F. Vandervorst, Gianfranco Ferré, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, and a sixteen-year tenure at Gucci, and his distinctive design language often draws from art, photography and music – blending subcultural references with sophisticated craft.
“I am incredibly honored to join Jil Sander,” says Bellotti, “a storied house that created a new aesthetic with its unique approach and strong identity, and that has always had such a significant influence on the design community. I am grateful to Renzo for the trust, and I am keen to contribute to the house’s full potential.”
Renzo Rosso, Chairman of OTB Group, added, “Simone embarks on this journey with extensive experience and a distinct talent. Over the time spent together we shared the strategic vision and mission for Jil Sander, the values of innovation and sophistication that make it an iconic and unique brand.”
