Converse are celebrating the make-your-own-mark appeal of their signature Chuck Taylor All Star with their latest campaign, dubbed Made By You.

The US sneaker company has got their hands on beloved and distinctly personal Chucks belonging to famous feet and curated a selection of sneaker portraits owned by notable international fans including Patti Smith and Andy Warhol, who used his as another canvas via tags ‘Sin’ and ‘Accepted’.

The concept is rooted in London with an impressive batch of British creative talents sharing their own customised Chucks, including Agi&Sam, Sibling, Sean Frank and Sam Taylor. Each one of these creatives has written a brief six word description about their pair of shoes and what they mean to them.

And bringing it back to ground level, artist Damilola Odusote has taken part, photographing thousands of Londoners wearing their Chucks proud and displaying the Polaroids in a new installation opening in Shoreditch today.

After all, from local communities to the subcultures they breed the street is where these kicks derive their real personality.

Converse ‘Made By You’ runs from today, Monday 2nd March at 3-10 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6PG
