Louis Vuitton FW17 in HERO 17. Photography Dexter Navy, fashion Ben Schofield
Filmmaker and photographer Dexter Navy shot our super limited edition HERO cover, and now we’re sharing a special video captured on the day.
For the new issue of HERO, Kim Jones, artistic director of men’s ready to wear at Louis Vuitton, selected Navy to shoot the Louis Vuitton FW17 collection, featuring the house’s collaboration with Supreme.
Filming around Les Arènes de Picasso – Ricardo Bofill’s looming postmodern structure at the Noisy-le-Grand commune – the setting was the ultimate backdrop to the collection, one of the highlights of Paris fashion week. The film, below, documents the shoot as Navy and stylist Ben Schofield capture street cast kids wearing the collection.
The day after the shoot, Kim Jones and Dexter Navy were in discussion for the issue, and Dexter reflected on the whole experience.
“We went straight to the location and I saw this kid riding a motorbike around, and [I wanted to use him for the shoot] but he was going too fast pulling wheelies through the estate, so we didn’t catch him. But then the next day it turned out he was one of the street cast kids” – Dexter Navy
