Mads Mikkelsen closed the Zegna show today wearing this season’s iteration of the brand’s Il Conte jacket, rendered in deep terracotta leather. Carrying two travel bags in either hand, the award-winning Danish actor – and newly-appointed Zegna Global Ambassador – epitomised the brand’s values of craft, artistry and sophistication. “Now that our reformed vocabulary has been established,” said Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori in the show notes, “it is the moment to focus on how items are or can be used, on the singular ways they mold to individual personalities.”
The venue was decorated with thousands of slim metallic poles that together created a golden field – these signified theOasi Lino fibres grown at the brand’s historic Oasi Mill in Northern Italy, which are harvested and turned into the exquisite lightweight linen suiting worn by models on the runway. Cast in earthy warm hues, easeful this season’s silhouettes offered a relaxed yet always suave wardrobe, as tailoring mixed with notchless collar knits, patterned pyjama fits and voluminous trousers. Designed with individuality in mind, each garment is imbued with an inherent sense of ease that caters for smooth variation and versatility. As the show notes read: “In the Oasi of Linen, no two individuals are perfectly alike, which makes their style ineffable.”
