Everyday luxe
A dimly lit derelict building dating back to the 1910s located in Paris’ 9th arrondissement set the scene for the unveiling of AMI’s FW25 collection. Friends of the house including Catherine Deneuve, Whoopi Goldberg, Omar Sy and Choi Woo Shik took to their seats as the notes of live saxophone and piano performance by musician Caleb Arredondo filled the venue.
This season, the brand celebrated everyday elevation as silhouettes prioritised comfort, worn by models such as Leon Dame, Jeanne Cadieu and Lara Stone. Oversized outerwear and flowing trousers formed the core of the collection while AMI’s classic poplin shirt was reinvented through maximised proportions and collar variations. Tailoring veered away from the traditional structured form with Alexandre Mattiussi approaching the concept through a relaxed lens, presenting casual suiting co-ords in minimalist hues of greys, beiges and camels. New textures such as shearling furs, satin and chiné flannels were introduced alongside classic menswear motifs of chevron, stripes and checks. As for accessories, AMI introduced this season’s ‘It’ bag, the Mimi, inspired by men’s briefcases and crafted in supple leather.
“In numerology, 2025 carries the energy of the number 9, my lucky number: it embodies boldness and serenity, reflecting the very spirit of our FW25 collection,” said creative director Mattiussi in the show notes, “This collection is about creating a safe, positive space – through a wardrobe that is sophisticated but never pretentious.”
