Twilight zone
Last season, Ami took us to Paris in the very early hours with a collection that featured numerous trench coats and the chicest leather gloves. This season, AMI’s creative director Alexandre Mattiussi moved the clocks forward to dusk. “I’ve drawn inspiration from another cherished moment in my beloved city,” Mattiussi said in the show notes, “the end of a sunny day, when the light fades just before sunset.”
Taking a break from AMI’s usual outdoor venues, this season’s show took place inside the empty shell of a former bank. The collection was a mix of both tailored and casual silhouettes, all with that distinctly Parisian style of chic that AMI captures so well. Materials were boldly styled, such as Look #12, mixing denim with a cream blazer. Colours were bold too. Some of the later looks boasted crimson shorts and jumpsuits, whilst chartreuse had a rare moment under the spotlights on jackets, shirts and skirts.
